Hi all,

Eslite d' Corps will be attending Ironfest again this year at Lithgow, April 24,25 and 26. This year we are running a few different things than usual and we hope to help to make Ironfest a big 14thC Living History event for re-enactors, performers and enthusiasts.

I'd like to extend an invite to all interested parties who might like to come along. This is a gig that we don't get paid for (come to think of it they all are!) so we cannot offer any kind of renumeration. The only thing we do offer is company of like minded nature, a place to do the things we like to do; archery, tournament, cooking, craft etc. We also have in place an agreement with Ironfest organizers that period merchants can set up and sell thier wares without a stall fee. We are also hosting a banquet on Saturday night and we will have our friends from Wayward playing music and making merry througout the weekend.

More formal activities we have are some deeds of arms, a 14th century style archery comp with real prizes (as it may have been back in the olden days) and of course front row seats at the jousts.

If anyone would like more info please don't hesitate to contact me at sirjustyn@sirjustyn.com If anyone has some ideas of things they'd like to see or do, I welcome all sensible suggestions.

Cheers,

I am looking forward to catching up at ironfest! I shall be bringing a small retinue of 3-6 persons from the Company of the Staple as well as riding in the joust I hope! Will keep you informed!

I have had an enquiry with regards to the lighting of fires within the historical campsite...are they permissable with sand, steel plate? I am aware it is on a footie field!

If you are not sure I can speak to Mac from the Ironfest Organising Committee!

Cheers

Yes we can provided of course we do the obligatory clean up afterward. No fires can be lit on the turf. Funny how once knights had rules and restrictions for footy players but now footy players have rules and restrictions for knights!

We can surely claim the high ground on ethical moral conduct though!
